What You Need to Know

Reporting directly to the SCM Supervisor, you would be responsible for the assembly, disassembly, refurbishment, testing and packaging of subsea equipment.  In the absence of the Lead Assembly Technician, you would also lead and direct other assembly technicians, as required

Key Accountabilities (includes, but not limited to the following)

  • Review, interpret and apply engineering testing procedures
  • Utilize schematics and drawings to aid in production set up and execution
  • Assemble, disassemble, refurbish and test subsea control modules, wellhead controls panels, hydraulic power units, valves and related equipment.
  • Work with fluke meter/loop calibrator/megger
  • Familiarity with Modbus and Canbus configurations
  • Responsible for proper documentation of each step in a procedure performed
  • Good understanding of hydraulic systems and operation of hydraulic power units
  • Ability to operate overhead crane
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Complete and maintain documentation, as required
  • Notify supervisor or QHSE Manager or quality or safety concerns
  • Maintain cleanliness of assembly, disassembly and test areas
  • Perform other work related tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Education

Essential

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred

  • One (1) to three (3) years experience in assembly, disassembly and testing of subsea equipment or related equipment

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Familiarity with engineering drawings including manufacturing, general arrangement and schematics
  • Sound mechanical knowledge including threads and thread forms, limits and fits, measuring units and conversions, basic math and mechanics and properties of materials
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to set job priorities, self-discipline and motivated to learn and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physically able to push, pull, lift, bend and kneel regularly
  • Able to work in elevated work areas with proper PPE

Physical Requirements

  • Physical dexterity required; ability to ascend/descend ladders; climb or balance; ability to reach with hands/arms, lift, push, pull and move objects fifty pounds or more.
  • Ability to operate hand tools, torque wrench, drills, tape measure etc
  • Employee may need to walk and stand at least eight hours per day
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Natural or corrected hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone
  • Capable of properly using standard office equipment, including telephone and a computer with keyboard
  • Ability to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment. Includes hard hat, steel toed shoes, safety glasses etc

Work Environment

  • Work environment is mostly climate controlled but could include working up to 12 hours per day or more in an outdoor environment with exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, loud noises with some exposure to hazards or physical risks which require basic safety precautions.
  • Ability to wear and utilize personal protective safety equipment (PPE) Required equipment includes steel toed shoes, safety glasses/goggles. Additional PPE may be required eg safety harnesses, fire retardant clothing (FRC), hard hats or others as assigned.
