Driver Trainer

Prixcar are currently seeking a Driver Trainer to assist in effectively coordinating and training our staff and subcontractors on the correct usage of fleet equipment.

Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Training and evaluating drivers on equipment usage; 
  • Record assessment/competency results in training records and provide feedback to line manager as applicable; 
  • Recommend suitability on type of equipment in line with driver capability including cross training of equipment;
  • Conduct annual and ad hoc competency assessments and record results in training records;
  • Develop & maintain excellent relationships with line managers and drivers;
  • Training/advising on the correct transport and logistics procedures and enforce compliance where necessary; 
  • Document and report any issue to line managers that requires performance management;
  • Carry out prompt and effective follow up from line managers and/or drivers, subcontractors and problem solve issues relating to loads incoming, outgoing and ensure correct loading and load restraint as per legislative requirements and company policy and procedure;
  • Deliver induction programme to new drivers and maintain records;
  • Check condition of equipment including the monitoring, stock take and ordering of equipment as required;
  • Lead and implement recommendations for continuous improvement to work processes and Training & Development;
  • Maintain regular contact with counterparts in other states and national office to ensure accuracy and consistency with equipment procedures, load restraints, driver training and development of programmes;
  • Assist in transit damage investigations as required by Operations/Driver Managers;
  • Involvement with new technology to improve process with equipment and training;
  • Provide assistance to Customer Service Manager with Dealership Risk Assessments;
  • Undertake Equipment Risk Assessments with the assistance of the HSE co-ordinators;
  • Travel to other depots as required.

You will need to be:

  • Experienced in specialised moves;
  • Cert IV qualified in Training & Assessment (TAE40116) 
  • Confident handling loads of high value;
  • An experienced HC driver
  • An excellent communicator;
  • BFM Certified (TLIF0005 & TLIF0006)

MSIC will be an advantage but not required.
