The Role:

Following an internal promotion, a rare opportunity has become available for a Production Manager to join and lead the day-to-day manufacturing operations within the Fresh area of our Liverpool Bakery.

Reporting to the Plant Manager – Fresh Operations, this key leadership role will see you drive team performance and champion a culture of continuous improvement, while ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. Your primary focus will be to lead and develop your team to achieve day-to-day production goals and meet customer expectations, fostering a positive, a productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Daily Operations Management: Oversee daily production operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety throughout the Fresh bakery.
• Team Leadership /Team Mentorship and Development:

Recruit, onboard, and motivate employees, ensuring every role is filled with capable and engaged individuals. Nurture talent and develop future leaders to drive our team and business forward.

Coach and mentor Team Leaders, conduct performance evaluations, and provide sound recommendations for employee development.

• Production Planning and Scheduling: Plan and coordinate production activities to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations. Manage rostering, scheduling, and payroll activities efficiently.
• Compliance Management: Maintain and ensure compliance with quality policies, safety, food safety and sanitation standards, and company procedures.
• Reporting: Provide accurate and timely reports on production performance, inventory, and budget.
• Drive Continuous Improvement: Implement and drive initiatives to enhance production processes and drive efficiency.
• Communication: Foster effective communication and relationships within the team and across the organization.
• Acts on behalf of Plant Manager in their absence.

About You:

We are looking for an engaging people leader who thrives in a dynamic environment where quality, safety and efficiency are paramount.

To be successful in the role you will have:

• 3+ years' experience in a complex manufacturing environment, ideally within the bakery/FMCG/food/pharma industries.
• Previous track record in leading medium to large teams will be preferred, combined with the ability to enhance employee engagement and drive top performance.
• Conflict resolution skills with ability to foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems and ability to rapidly learn new systems.
• Superior time management, prioritising and problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Great communications skills, with ability to adjust communication style to wide audiences.
