Queensland Law Society (QLS) is the professional body for legal practitioners, representing more than 10,000 members state-wide. We lead the legal profession by advocating for good law and supporting good lawyers.
You’ll be responsible for supporting our two People and Culture Business Partners in the effective delivery of all HR systems and projects, including:
- administrative tasks relating to recruitment such as preparation and placement of job advertisements, assisting with shortlisting candidates, organisation of interviews and undertaking reference checks
- work with internal stakeholders to coordinate the new starter, staffing changes and exiting staff processes
- coordination of the fortnightly payroll process in conjunction with our outsourced provider Aussie Pay to ensure all payroll records are accurate and up-to-date
- administrative tasks relating to learning and development, including researching training providers, the organisation of training rooms and collation of training materials
- administration behind our annual performance and salary review process
- proactively manage the hradminquery@qls.com.au and employment@qls.com.au inboxes
- develop monthly HR metrics reports and other relevant HR reports as required
- project management administrative support
- other general HR administrative support as required.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- a qualification in human resources, business or a relevant qualification (highly desirable)
- experience in a similar HR coordinator/ administrator role in a professional services environment
- exposure to payroll and a keen desire to learn and manage the administration behind this fortnightly process
- ability to research and interpret applicable IR legislation and apply it to QLS in the development of policies, procedures and practices
- be professionally presented and have a strong commitment to service excellence
- demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing demands whilst maintaining professionalism and commitment to quality service
- excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills coupled with the ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders
- ability to work collaboratively and to apply work practices that contribute to knowledge sharing
- demonstrated competency in the use of modern office technology, including MS Office and customer relationship management systems.
