Queensland Law Society (QLS) is the professional body for legal practitioners, representing more than 10,000 members state-wide. We lead the legal profession by advocating for good law and supporting good lawyers.
Reporting to our General Manager, Membership and Strategic Partnerships, you will be responsible for turning our member data into information to assist in providing insight and input into our business decisions and ensuring that our key stakeholders’ requirements are integrated in the development of efficient business processes. This will include:
- developing our analysis and reporting capabilities to provide input to our decision making
- developing and implementing data collection from iMIS and other strategies that optimise statistical efficiency and data quality
- identifying, analysing and monitoring relevant trends within our membership database and developing recommendations to inform business decisions
- working with our GM, Membership and Strategic Partnerships to locate and define new process improvement opportunities and complete a member analysis focusing on identifying service gaps and the development of new programs
- consulting with business unit managers to assist in process improvements and enhance business efficiencies
- responding to requests for data analysis and reporting from business units and managing the delivery of these requests in a timely manner
- working with our Business Systems Analyst to develop internal user capability through effective training of iMIS to enable optimal utilisation of the system.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- proven experience as a data analyst in a professional services environment
- tertiary qualifications in information systems, business or a related discipline (highly desirable)
- demonstrated experience working with CRM systems (experience with iMIS highly desirable)
- knowledge of Crystal reporting and demonstrated competence in Microsoft SQL database administration
- knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analysing large data sets
- proven experience as a functional and technical expert with well-developed analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- demonstrated analytical and product management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
- adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
- experience in process mapping and in generating solutions to enhance business efficiencies
- ability to quickly understand, prioritise and respond to complex issues
- demonstrated competence in interpersonal communication and negotiation skills, including the ability to influence stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes
- advanced skills in Microsoft Office 2010 applications.
