About the Opportunity
Due to continued rapid growth, Aliant Food Services have a rewarding opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Warehouse and Distribution Manager in their convenient South-side location in Slacks Creek.
As the Warehouse and Distribution Manager, your primary responsibilities will cover a full spectrum of activities; including the receiving, handling, storage and dispatch of foods and products.
Responsible for a team of 15, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
•Handling customer enquiries and complaints that relate to the warehousing and dispatch of goods, in a way that best represents Aliant
•Working alongside the Purchasing Manager to monitor and take co-responsibility for inventory levels
•Logistics operations, including organising delivery drivers and their runs, ensuring efficiency and timeliness
•Full leadership responsibilities of your team, who include drivers, storemen and pickers. This includes recruitment, hiring and dismissal processes, training and up-skilling, bullying and workplace harassment issues.
•Always promoting and improving the warehouse culture amongst staff, dealing with conflicts appropriately and maintaining an enjoyable and hardworking workspace.
•Adhering to, promoting and maintaining knowledge of Work Place Health and Safety systems and procedures- ensuring the safe handling of food and allowing staff and customers alike to be confident with this safety.
•Monitoring expenses incurred by your department and developing methods to improve productivity.
About the Ideal Candidate
Alliant Food Services are seeking an extremely organised individual who values the importance of an accurate and timely delivery system. It is essential that you have at least 10 years experience managing and leading a team in a similar environment and that you have proven workplace health and safety knowledge. It is also essential that you have extensive warehouse management and logistics experience and that you have managed a fleet of trucks and their drivers, in the past.
