Ron Conn Nursing Home, located in Avondale Heights, provides high quality accommodation and care to older people who require assistance with daily living and personal care.

 

Your new role

Wintringham is currently seeking a motivated, driven and enthusiastic Enrolled Endorsed Nurse to join our residential team at Ron Conn Nursing Home as an Assistant Supervisor on a Part time basis. In this busy and dynamic role, you will assist to undertake detailed clinical assessments of residents as well as provide leadership in the management of challenging behaviours.

 

Your roster will be:

Week 1: Monday, Wednesday & Thursday (0700 -1500)

Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday ,Friday, Saturday & Sunday (0700 -1500)

 

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Provide leadership in the management of challenging behaviours including  being responsible for the administration of cigarette and alcohol programs
  • Assist in the ongoing assessment of residents who are unstable and notify the supervisor of abnormal findings
  • Assist in the administration of Schedule 8 and ‘PRN’ medications
  • Assist and support care staff in all aspects of their work including medication administration and personal care.
  • Develop an expert knowledge of resident’s health and reassess regularly through participation in ‘Resident of the Day’.

We are looking for candidates with the following:

You are an experienced Enrolled Endorsed Nurse (RN2) with current AHPRA registration and a minimum of a Cert IV/Diploma of Nursing. You have a proven track record of success in your ability to supervise and support staff to ensure a high standard of care is maintained. Your skills will be supported by the following:

  • Previous experience in Residential Aged Care
  • Knowledge of AN-ACC and Aged Care Standards
  • Experience in gerontology/community/palliative/mental health/alcohol and drugs or related specialty (highly advantageous)
  • A commitment to social justice with a non-judgmental attitude
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to provide support and supervision to a team.
