Your new role

We are currently seeking a Registered Nurse Supervisor (RN1 Grade 4B)  for our Ron Conn Nursing home on a Full Time Basis starting on the 12th of August 2024. This exciting position aims at delivering services and providing clinical support and advice for Supervisors while also assisting with urgent operational matters. You will be required to fulfill the needs of residents and support staff in the provision of clinical care. As a key ‘go to’ Registered Nurse Supervisor for the team, you will have an excellent understanding of current best practice guidelines and be confident in providing clinical and operational advice and guidance. Your roster will be as below:

 

Week 1: Monday to Friday (0700 – 1500)

Week 2: Monday to Friday (0700 – 1500)

 

Successful candidates must have capacity to fulfil the entire roster

 

Your responsibilities and duties will include (but aren’t limited to):

  • Provide mentoring and support for staff throughout the shift
  • Allocate staff according to resident care requirements and staff skill mix
  • Undertake detailed clinical assessments of unwell residents
  • Provide/directly supervise complex care such as wound management, palliative care, and emergency procedures.
  • Provide leadership in the management of residents exhibiting behaviours of concer
  • Provide leadership in the management of cigarette and alcohol programs
  • Develop admission / respite care plans for new residents
  • Supporting care staff to assess residents changing care needs
  • Liaise with medical practitioners, pharmacists and other health services

What we need from you:

The successful applicant must be a Registered Nurse (Division 1 Grade 5 ).

Applicants with knowledge of alcohol dependence and associated behaviours and experience in complex mental illness will be looked on favorably.

These will be supported by your:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (or equivalent)
  • Current AHPRA Registration
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Previous Supervisory experience will be considered favorably
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Experience in Aged Care + AN- ACC
