- Part Time role – 7 shifts per fortnight
- Based at Ron Conn Nursing Home in Avondale Heights (VIC)
Your new role
We are currently seeking a proactive Personal Care Assistant to join our friendly and dynamic residential team at our Ron Conn nursing home on a Part Time basis. The fortnightly schedule will consist of 7 overnight shifts.
The fortnightly roster is as below:
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday (2130 – 0730)
Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday (2130 – 0730)
Successful applicants will have the capacity to fulfil all the above shifts.
Your responsibilities and duties will include:
- Assisting residents with personal care including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming and other activities of daily living
- To observe and report changes in resident’s behaviour or physical condition
- To undertake medication management and treatment procedures as directed by the Residential Site Manager or person in charge
- To liaise with medical practitioners, pharmacists and other health services to provide relevant services for the care and wellbeing of the residents
- Assisting in the implementation of cigarette and alcohol programs
- Observing and reporting changes in residents behaviour or physical condition and maintain appropriate documentation as required
- Providing emotional support to residents.
We are looking for candidates with the following:
- Ability to work both in team and autonomously
- Certificate III/IV in Aged Care/Individual Support
- Completion of medication administration unit (HLTHPS006 - Assist Clients with Medication)
- Prior experience in housing & homelessness support, aged care, welfare, disability support, mental health or community/home care
- Keen eye for detail
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to enhance or maintain our residents independence and lifestyle
- A friendly and non-judgmental attitude
