Your new role
Wintringham is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Food Services Assistant to join our Food Services Team on a Full Time basis to support our production kitchen operations. This role will undertake a range of general kitchen duties such as meal distribution to our other residential homes, food preparation, plating and service of food, ensuring that meals are nutritious and well presented.
Your fortnightly roster will be as below:
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday (0630 – 1436)
Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday (0630 – 1436)
Your responsibilities and duties will include:
- Ensuring meal distribution to all services is accurate and timely.
- Assisting the Food Services Team to ensure to that the food services program complies with the food safety act.
- Assisting Chefs in the preparation, cooking, serving, cross checking and packing of the meals for delivery.
- Undertaking general kitchen duties that include cleaning, dishwashing and plating of meals.
- Ensuring all meals produced are of a good visual and nutritional standard in quantities appropriate with resident’s needs.
- Ensuring all special diets are correct in content.
We are looking for candidates with the following:
- Extensive experience in a similar role
- A current Food Handlers certificate preferred or a willingness to undertake Food Safety Training.
- Prior Food Services experience in Aged or Community Care (highly advantageous)
- Good understanding of Food Safety Requirements
- Ability to work within a team as well as autonomously
- Adaptability to changes in the environment.
