- Based at our Ron Conn Nursing Home in Avondale Heights (VIC)
Your new role
Wintringham is seeking a Recreation Coordinator to take on weekday shifts at our Ron Conn Nursing Home on a Full Time Basis. In this engaging role you will coordinate and continually develop a recreation program, designed to meet the individual leisure needs of each resident.
Your fortnightly roster will be as below:
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday (0900 – 1706)
Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday (0900 – 1706)
Your responsibilities and duties include:
- Co-ordinating, facilitating and continually developing a recreation program designed to meet the individual leisure needs of each client whilst maximising their recreational independence.
- Supervise and support other members of the recreation team regarding structure and development of programs.
- Encouraging clients to maintain their community associations and contacts
- Ensuring that accurate and relevant documentation is up to date
- Promoting recreational opportunities available within the broader community
We are looking for candidates with the following:
- Experience within the social sector or a degree qualification (looked upon favourably) in Leisure and Lifestyle, Psychology, Community Development or a similar discipline
- Current drivers licence (mandatory)
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates will be looked on favourably
- Experience in working with older people
- Experience in recreational program planning and implementation
- Knowledge of local area and services
- Knowledge of and ability to utilise community groups and resources.
