About the Role
Working under the general supervision and guidance of the Group Financial Controller, the Accounts Payable Officer performs the day to day activities for weekly and monthly accounts payable processing and associated tasks in a timely and accurate manner, and provides expert advice and customer service to the business. Our goal is to pay all suppliers accurately and on time, which promotes the Accounts Payable Team as a professional and supportive team, allowing Business Units to serve their customers better.
We have a current opportunity to join our team at our Head Office in Burswood, Western Australia. This position is available in a Full-time capacity working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Apply operational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks to ensure invoices are processed accurately and on time.
- Attend to Accounts Payable queries promptly and professionally, escalating any unknown issues appropriately.
- Work cooperatively with the site’s administration staff to meet operational and business objectives.
- Prepare payment batches as required to meet determined payment terms.
- Prepare supplier reconciliations on a monthly basis to ensure completeness and integrity of payment batches.
- Have computer skills with proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Adhere to departmental confidentiality and compliance standards.
- Perform other ad-hoc tasks as requested by the supervisors.
Skills, Attributes and Experience:
- Minimum 1+ year experience in large volume accounts payable
- Experience with complex Accounts Payable issues
- Ability to prioritize and manage own time.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer skills with proficiency in MS Excel.
- Ability to meet targets
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and to work under pressure.
- Establishes strong relationships across the range of Federal Group businesses, corporate functions and external agencies.
- Enjoys problem‐solving and seeking answers/solutions to issues ‐ will investigate and look for alternatives.
