About the Role
We are looking to add a WHS Advisor to our team to ensure we are taking care of our best assets - our people - and provide the best care for our residents.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced WHS Advisor to develop this role within the organisation. Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, the WHS Advisor is a key member of the People & Culture Team and plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees by maintaining compliance with the relevant legislation and promoting a positive safety culture throughout all levels of the organisation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Undertake a comprehensive review of the Safety Management Strategy & Framework
- Create and roll out the Safety Management Strategy & Framework
- Review all WHS policies, procedures, documentation etc and reflect the changes from the new WHS Act
- Be compliance driven, focused on ensuring Roshana is meeting all obligations under the Act
- Produce monthly WHS Dashboard with live statistics, reports etc for Directors/Managers
- Research and recommend actions to reduce workers compensation claims
- Focused policies on Mental Health and Psychological Injury in the workplace
- Mentor and coach key stakeholders in behaviour focused work safety practices
Skills, Attributes and Experience
Essential
- Minimum of 2 years experience in WHS
- Tertiary qualifications in WHS/OHS or related field
- Proven ability to understand, apply and communicate complex WHS processes and requirements
- Experience with WHS assessments and investigations
- Knowledge of the WHS Act as it relates to Western Australia, Queensland and New South Wales.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Desirable
- Understanding of Infection Control within Aged Care
