About the Role  

The role of the Kitchen Hand is to provide friendly, attentive, and efficient service and products to our valued customers at Lotus by Roshana. The Kitchen Hand is responsible for assisting in the delivery of high-quality products whilst adhering to the policies and procedures of the restaurant. You will also be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards: 

  • Deliver consistent high quality customer service to both internal and external customers to the prescribed service standards.
  • Prepare food and beverage products to the prescribed standard operating procedures/ duty statement.
  • Complete cleaning tasks as prescribed by the standard operating procedures/duty statement or as directed by the Chef on duty.
  • Compliance with food safety program, policies, and procedures.
  • Advise Chef on duty of any catering related issues and needs where required.
  • Maintain stock levels as per stock control systems and procedures to ensure customers’ needs and presentation standards are met.
  • To report all workplace hazards immediately e.g., walkway obstructions, poor lighting, faulty electrical equipment, incorrectly stored boxes, or obstructed exit door.

Desirable Skills, Attributes and Experience 

  • A minimum of 1 year demonstrated experience in similar roles.
  • Experience in a hospitality and commercial kitchen environment.
  • Must hold a Food Handlers Certificate.
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to perform under a high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent planning, organising and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety systems.
  • Ability to prioritise and complete tasks on time.
