We are seeking an exceptional Restaurant Manager for our state-of-the-art restaurant in Applecross. Our establishment will cater to both the residents of the high-rise apartments above the restaurant and the public. This new venue aims to deliver a luxurious 5-star hotel experience to our apartment residents, offering room service and exceptional food, beverages, and customer service to the public. The restaurant bar will feature a thoughtfully curated wine and beverage selection.
About the Role
With a strong emphasis on a person-centered approach to hospitality, the Restaurant Manager oversees and supervises the restaurant's operations to ensure the provision of exceptional services. The role involves managing the day-to-day functions of the restaurant, and supervising the delivery of hospitality services to residents, their families, and the public while demonstrating leadership aligned with our values. This entails establishing positive relationships with key stakeholders, such as residents, families, customers, and staff, and overseeing financial, human resources, and quality improvement initiatives to achieve set objectives and goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership
- Actively promotes and models the Values of the organization through a collaborative, multidisciplinary team approach that actively supports achievement of an ongoing, meaningful life for our residents and the public.
- Leads the development and operational roll out of strategic initiatives at a local level.
- Builds strong partnerships and networks to facilitate genuine person-centered outcomes. This includes fostering positive relationships with residents, customers and staff.
- Actively promotes and protects the image and reputation of the organisation.
- Manages and mentors staff, promoting a holistic, person-centered approach.
- Leads and manages change aligned with industrial best practices.
Management
- Oversees the performance, development and flow of work activities throughout the facility restaurant.
- Empowers and encourages staff to reach their fullest potential and leads by example.
- Consumer engagement and feedback
- Inventory management
- Ensures efficient and effective rostering of staff and maintain consistency that minimizes negative impact on residents and customers.
Service Delivery
- Ensure that the restaurant team deliver friendly, consistent, and effective service to all residents and customers.
Desirable Skills, Attributes and Experience
Essential
- Strong knowledge and experience regarding food and beverage.
- Strong previous experience in managing a restaurant and leading a team.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service.
- Must be able to perform under a high pressure environment.
- A valid and current Approved Managers License.
- An up-to-date Responsible Service of Alcohol Qualification.
- Current National Police Certificate and assessment against requirements of the Aged Care Act.
- Knowledge of Liquor Licensing Acts and Laws.
- Ability to create a wine and beverage list.
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and serve a wide range of stakeholders and customers.
- Demonstrated proficiency in IT applications relevant to the role.
