About the Role
The Chef Manager is a key role with responsibility for the efficient execution of all facility based catering whilst providing effective leadership of the kitchen and hospitality staff.
The Chef Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of kitchen operations including budgets, staffing, menus and meal preparation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Organize and implement food service
- Plan and implement daily food preparation lists for effective production
- Following all safe work procedure
- Implement and oversee the training of catering staff
- Is accountable and works closely with the facility manager on day-to-day activities.
- Ensures regulatory compliance in relation to Work Health and Safety, in accordance with Roshana Group’s safety policies and practices
- Acknowledges and communicates clearly too all service consumers, visitors, visiting medical officers, allied health professionals, and staff in order to provide a friendly welcoming environment.
Desirable Skills, Attributes and Experience
- At least 2 years’ experience in managing food preparation and cooking for large numbers of people.
- A high level of food safety knowledge.
- Sound written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to supervise and organise staff to deliver high quality catering services.
- Be able to work effectively and efficiently within a team environment and independently as required.
- Hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
- Hold a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
- Aged Care experience and knowledge of IDDSI standards will be highly regarded.
- Have empathy with the elderly.
- Have full Australian working rights and able to pass a national police clearance.
