About the Role  

As a Chef, you will utilise your creative flair and passion for food to ensure high quality food production for our residents, which meets the standards expected by the facility. In this role, you will be responsible for the overall operations in the kitchen area, ensuring all that all dishes are created at a high-quality standard. As a Chef, you will also be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards: 

• Organise and implement food service in accordance with planned menus.
• Prepares and serves meals that align with the menu and complies with all necessary health standards.
• Analysis of all aspects of the operation to monitor and audit performance to ensure continuous improvements are achieved.
• Fosters the development of positive relationships with individuals, families, and staff.
• Plan and implement daily food preparation lists for effective production.
• Effectively manages all aspects of the kitchen operations and environmental compliance requirements.

 Desirable Skills, Attributes and Experience 

• A minimum of 1 year demonstrated experience in commercial cookery.
• Must hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge and experience regarding culinary skills and relevant food trends.
• Sound written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to perform under a high-pressure environment.
• Excellent planning, organising and time management skills.
• Knowledge of food safety systems.
• Ability to prioritise and complete tasks on time. 
• Experience in an aged care environment is highly desired.
