About the Role

The role of the Kitchen Hand/ Cleaner is to provide friendly, attentive, and efficient service and products to our valued customers.

The Kitchen Hand/ Cleaner is responsible for assisting in the delivery of high-quality products whilst adhering to the policies and procedures of Roshana. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver consistent high quality customer service to both internal and external customers to the prescribed service standards.
  • Prepare food and beverage products to the prescribed standard operating procedures/ duty statement
  • Complete cleaning tasks as prescribed by the standard operating procedures/duty statement or as directed by the Chef on duty
  • Compliance with food safety program, policies, and procedures
  • Advise Chef on duty of any catering related issues and needs where required.
  • Maintain stock levels as per stock control systems and procedures to ensure customers’ needs and presentation standards are meet
  • To report all workplace hazards immediately e.g., walkway obstructions, poor lighting, faulty electrical equipment, incorrectly stored boxes, or obstructed exit door
  • Ensures the facility is kept clean and tidy through the undertaking of pantry, laundry and cleaning duties, in accordance with shift guidelines and cleaning schedules.
  • Liaises with the multidisciplinary team to modify and adapt household tasks to meet individual residents’ needs to use their abilities and enable their safe and active participation in tasks that provide a sense of purpose.
  • Actively supports residents to assist with pantry, laundry and cleaning tasks as above.
  • Actively supports residents to build mutually beneficial relationships with other residents for thepurpose of companionship during household activities.
  • Supports residents to follow infection control and other relevant safety practices.
  • Ensures the regular replenishing of supplies from the storeroom.
  • Ensures items that are accepted by the laundry are suitable to be placed in the equipment/machines.

Skills, Attributes and Experience

  • Food Handlers Certificate
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Time Management skills
  • Written and Verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in a commercial kitchen environment

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • An understanding of food safe principles.
