About The Opportunity

The primary purpose of this position is to carry out fabrication and welding of crane components and assemblies to a high standard within a manufacturing environment.

Reporting directly to the Manager, some of your responsibilities will include:

• Medium to heavy fabrication using MIG (GMAW) and ARC (SMAW) welding
• Using fabrication equipment including cutting, drilling and grinding tools
• Fabricating and welding crane components and major sub-assemblies
• Collaborating with production and assembly teams to meet targets
• Ensuring safe and efficient use of workshop tools and equipment
• Operating overhead gantry cranes to position components

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• Trade qualification Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication (or equivalent)
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and mark out materials
• Strong experience with MIG (GMAW) and ARC (SMAW) welding
• Background in heavy fabrication or manufacturing environments
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship

In addition, you will:

• Hold a forklift licence (highly regarded but not essential)
• Be able to work independently and as part of a team
• Have a strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Hold a valid Australian driver’s licence
• Be reliable and punctual
