They have a global presence, with teams based in the U.S., Canada, New Zealand, the UK, South Africa and Australia (including offices in Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia).

About The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a well-recognised and experienced environmental practitioner to build their Western Australian and wider business and lead teams. The right individual may also serve as State Manager, with the goal to grow the small team and build capability. They are not necessarily looking for an Auditor, but if you are one and think this could be right for you, please apply. The successful candidate will ideally live around the Perth / Fremantle area but they would consider someone living in a regional location with the correct set up. 

Reporting to the State Manager or Managing Director (if also serving as the State Manager), as a Senior Leader in the company, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and expanding business focus in Western Australia (They have major oil and gas and manufacturing clients around Australia including WA and want to expand these sectors and expand into mining and new energy)
  • Cultivating new relationships and build on existing ones with major clients such as Alcoa, Santos, and Origin Energy
  • Leading projects, operations, and business activities in Western Australia
  • Defining and implementing growth strategies and goals
  • Mentoring and transferring knowledge to staff
  • Ensuring high-quality project delivery while maintaining team culture

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • 10+ years of experience in the industry
  • A reputable profile throughout the industry with regulators and in industry bodies
  • Degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology, Hydrology, Engineering (Chemical, Environmental, Mining) Geotechnical or equivalent
  • Demonstrated leadership skills 
  • Advanced business development capability
  • Strong project management skills 

You will also have:

  • Proven ability to conceptualise complex systems
  • Strong analytical and technical report-writing ability 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
