About The Company
Our client is a Not-for-profit Indigenous Corporation that employs people in all facets of the building Industry, they construct houses, do housing renovations, batch and pour concrete, run a Mini Mart and Takeaway, own and operate a 86 room Resort in Darwin and have recently purchased a controlling interest in a Food Wholesale business. They have contracts with the NT Government, South 32 and East Arnhem Regional Council and Anindilyakwa Land Council. With bases in Umbakumba, Milyakburra and Alyangula, they also provide Aged Care Support in Groote and Bickerton and have a Respite facility in Cairns, have 50 children being Educated (mainstream) in Queensland. They also have the RSAS contract for the Commonwealth Government.
About The Opportunity
As the Project Manager, you will report directly to the CEO and will be managing a team of carpenters, plumbers, electricians, welders, and painters.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing and managing the daily operations of the Construction team
- Preparing tenders and quotes for renovations, house extensions and new builds
- Improving quality, productivity, and efficiency
- Being able to do take-offs, order materials and read plans
- Addressing issues and problems within your job description
- Being able to manage a construction team
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- A valid Builder's Licence (Required)
- Experience with CAD
- Strong leadership and Management skills
- Have a Carpentry(construction) background with a range of skills
- The ability to work with Indigenous employees and trainees
You will also have:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Communicate with clients and gain their confidence
- A proactive and solution-oriented mindset
