About The Company
Our client is a Sydney-based law firm with a strong dedication to upholding clients' rights and promoting social change. Specialising in civil, criminal, and defamation law, the firm focuses on intentional tort litigation, including assault, battery, and historical abuse.
The practice is very supportive with 14 solicitors who work closely to provide advice and support collectively.
About The Opportunity
As a Civil Solicitor, you will have the opportunity to work in a small, tight-knit team. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the Principal Solicitor with various matters
- Handling claims for unlawful detention, excessive force, and more
- Working on personal injury, discrimination, and historical sexual abuse cases
- Mentoring and developing junior lawyers and paralegals
This role is primarily office based with flexible hybrid options available.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- 3+ years PQE (Ideally in Civil Litigation or similar field)
- Experience working with disadvantaged groups and individuals
- Strong ability to analyse complex legal issues and apply them practically
You will also have:
- A respectful and non-judgmental attitude
- A commitment to upholding clients' rights and dignity
- Demonstrated initiative, resilience, and ability to work both independently and in a team
- An eye for detail, strategic thinking, and a trauma-informed approach to client management
