About The Company 

Our client is a leading fire engineering consultancy who specialises in fire safety engineering, passive fire safety, fire protection and emergency lighting. They offer strategic fire consulting, and our services include computer modelling, fire engineering design, passive fire, fire protection, construction monitoring, system specification, compliance checking, safety assessment and peer review services.

All of their projects encompass construction and reconstruction of buildings in residential, retail, office and industry across private and public sectors.

About The Opportunity

The purpose of this position is to deliver passive engineering design and construction observation solutions that meet customer, company and regulatory requirements.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Investigate and report on fire rated construction and passive fire in existing buildings
  • Maintain effective, positive client relationships at the appropriate level, building a trusted advisor relationship
  • Prepare passive fire protection designs for new and existing buildings and industrial facilities, including preparation of calculations, plans and specifications.
  • Respond to construction queries and provide sound design solutions to onsite problems and variations in a timely manner as they arise.
  • Monitor the construction programme and plan to carry out inspections at key intervals.
  • Able to provide reports on construction progress and quality of workmanship.
  • Check shop drawings and as-built drawings.

About You 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in the same or similar role with relevant tertiary qualifications 
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills with a high degree of literacy and numeracy including digital literacy.
  • Good technical knowledge and good working knowledge of appropriate industry standards, regulations, tests, methods, systems, codes and solutions.
  • Stakeholder and relationship management skills and developing negotiating and influencing, interpersonal, business development and conflict resolution skills.
