Our client produces quality components required for Mining & Commercial sectors with a dedicated team using the latest technology for stainless welding & fabrication as well as a variety of carbon products for mild steel to high end wear plate material, while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction and adherence to quality standards.
About The Opportunity
This role is responsible for executing the subarc welding of products and to ensure that the product meets both customer and quality requirements.
Some of your responsibilities include:
- Ensure all welding and subarc welding is carried out according to plans; the internal and customer specifications and any other requirements
- Read and interpret drawings and/or specifications to determine job requirements.
- Clamp, holds, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configuration and positions for welding.
- Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
- Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts of warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of materials.
- Measure the quality of work by examining for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- A trade qualification as a welder
- A minimum of 2 years experience in the same or similar role
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
