About The Opportunity

As a Solicitor, you will have the opportunity to manage your own files while working closely with the Principal Lawyer on complex family and criminal law matters. Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Managing family law and criminal matters while receiving support as needed
• Attending and running directions, interim hearings, dispute resolution conferences, and other court commitments
• Researching, drafting, and managing all court documents including Applications, Affidavits, and Financial Statements
• Independently advising clients and managing day-to-day correspondence related to their cases
• Conferencing and advising clients on various legal matters

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• 2+ years post-admission experience in Family Law
• A Bachelor of Laws and a current Practicing Certificate
• Experience as a confident advocate in court settings
• Knowledge of PEXA and LEAP (desirable)
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

You will also have:

• A "can-do" attitude and a sense of humour
• Strong attention to detail and exceptional drafting skills.
• The ability to work autonomously and proactively
• Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills to meet tight deadlines
• A strategic thinker with a pragmatic approach to complex legal matters
