About The Opportunity
The Purchasing Officer will play a crucial role within the purchasing team, ensuring that stock levels and pricing structures are effectively managed. Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and lodging stock orders to meet the urgent needs of a varied client base
- Updating and managing the product database to reflect current inventory
- Sourcing and evaluating potential new and alternative products
- Developing and sustaining valuable partnerships with suppliers
- Coordinating logistics for incoming local purchase orders
- Liaising with suppliers regarding order discrepancies, damaged items, and warranty claims
About You
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in purchasing, product management, or a similar role, specifically within the Marine or RV accessories industries. The ideal applicant will possess:
- Strong numeracy skills and high attention to detail
- Proficiency in database management and relevant computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word
- Excellent analytical, planning, and organisational abilities
- Effective negotiation skills to manage supplier relationships
- The capability to work independently under pressure and adapt promptly to changing priorities
