Our client is a family-owned Australian company founded over 38 years ago. They specialise in the design and manufacture of quality, high-performance bulk materials handling equipment for the agricultural, industrial, and manufacturing industries. In addition to their extensive range of standard equipment, they custom design and manufacture equipment.

About The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a busy manufacturing workshop.

Reporting to the General Manager, some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and engineering innovative machinery and improving existing product lines
  • Creating detailed designs and manufacturing drawings using CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Collaborating closely with production staff, the sales office, and senior management
  • Contributing to ongoing product development and innovation

About You

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential attributes:

  • Proven experience in CAD drafting (SolidWorks preferred) in a commercial setting
  • Background in mechanical design and engineering
  • A strong understanding of engineering principles and practical application
  • Strong mechanical competence and practical ability
  • Self-motivated with excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and communicate effectively

You will also have:

  • Experience in designing and manufacturing conveyors or bulk handling equipment (desirable)
  • Mechanical engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience (desirable)
  • Production knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes (desirable)
