About The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a busy manufacturing workshop.
Reporting to the General Manager, some of your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and engineering innovative machinery and improving existing product lines
- Creating detailed designs and manufacturing drawings using CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Collaborating closely with production staff, the sales office, and senior management
- Contributing to ongoing product development and innovation
About You
The ideal candidate will possess the following essential attributes:
- Proven experience in CAD drafting (SolidWorks preferred) in a commercial setting
- Background in mechanical design and engineering
- A strong understanding of engineering principles and practical application
- Strong mechanical competence and practical ability
- Self-motivated with excellent planning and organisational skills
- Ability to collaborate across departments and communicate effectively
You will also have:
- Experience in designing and manufacturing conveyors or bulk handling equipment (desirable)
- Mechanical engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience (desirable)
- Production knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes (desirable)
