About The Opportunity
We are seeking a Controlled Environment Engineer to undertake crucial indoor air quality (IAQ) investigations and certify controlled indoor environments such as operating theatres, containment facilities, safety cabinets, and cleanrooms. Your role will involve hands-on testing, utilising calibrated instruments provided by the company, and producing comprehensive reports to document your findings.
- Conduct testing and certification of air quality in operating theaters and cleanrooms
- Perform IAQ investigations and interpret environmental air quality results
- Validate safety cabinets, HEPA filters, and compressed air systems in accordance with relevant standards
- Maintain accurate records, including timesheets, project notes, and certification reports
- Manage instrumentation for IAQ testing and certification
- Provide professional representation of Airlab to clients
- Offer technical advice and guidance to clients, addressing inquiries effectively
- Foster existing relationships and build new ones with clients
- Adhere to company health and safety requirements
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience in cleanroom or certification testing
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills
- A positive attitude with a self-motivated and strong work ethic
- Prior knowledge of air conditioning systems or air quality
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to follow procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- A proven track record of punctuality and positive attitude
- Physical fitness to handle equipment lifting
- A technical mindset to conduct tests and write reports
- Solid organisational skills, including multitasking and time management
- A high level of integrity with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Ability to interpret building plans, equipment schedules, and technical drawings
You will also have:
- A full driver’s license
- Current work visa or New Zealand residency
- Demonstrated strong written skills and computer literacy
- Willingness to occasionally work outside standard business hours
- A minimum of 4 years testing experience in cleanroom certification/validation or air quality testing
- Preferably an Engineering Degree and/or 2 years of testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) or commissioning experience
