About The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Fitter & Turner / Machinist to join a busy manufacturing workshop producing custom bulk handling equipment.

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Operating manual machining equipment including centre lathes, milling, drilling, and slotting machines
  • Setting up and machining components for custom-built equipment and projects
  • Working autonomously to complete fitting and machining tasks to specification
  • Maintaining high standards of accuracy, quality, and workmanship
  • Assisting with fabrication, assembly, and workshop-based tasks as required
  • Ensuring all work complies with safety, quality, and workshop procedures

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Trade qualification as a Fitter & Turner or equivalent industry experience
  • Demonstrated experience with manual machining equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • A proactive, reliable, and safety-focused approach

You will also ideally have:

  • Experience with basic hydraulics and MIG welding
  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
  • Willingness to work overtime when required
