About The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Fitter & Turner / Machinist to join a busy manufacturing workshop producing custom bulk handling equipment.
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Operating manual machining equipment including centre lathes, milling, drilling, and slotting machines
- Setting up and machining components for custom-built equipment and projects
- Working autonomously to complete fitting and machining tasks to specification
- Maintaining high standards of accuracy, quality, and workmanship
- Assisting with fabrication, assembly, and workshop-based tasks as required
- Ensuring all work complies with safety, quality, and workshop procedures
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Trade qualification as a Fitter & Turner or equivalent industry experience
- Demonstrated experience with manual machining equipment
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- A proactive, reliable, and safety-focused approach
You will also ideally have:
- Experience with basic hydraulics and MIG welding
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
- Willingness to work overtime when required
