About The Opportunity

The primary purpose of this role is to partner with the Chief Executive and Senior Leadership Team to develop and deliver marketing and communications plans that position GirlGuiding New Zealand as the leading organisation for girls and young women in Aotearoa, while leading marketing prioritisation, investment and quality assurance, and combining strategic leadership with a hands-on approach to delivery, including drafting, editing and publishing content as needed. This role can be based in either Auckland with a hybrid working model or fully remote in Wellington. 

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and deliver marketing and communications strategy, advising senior leadership on brand positioning and decision-making
  • Plan and execute campaigns, managing budget and optimising performance through data and insights
  • Oversee digital marketing and content across all channels, ensuring consistency, quality and effectiveness
  • Support public relations and media activity while building strong stakeholder and partner relationships
  • Provide hands-on contribution to content creation alongside strategic oversight where needed
  • Lead, coach and support team member/s while ensuring high-quality, aligned communications and a collaborative team culture

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • 3+ years of people management experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Marketing, Communications or other relevant field
  • Experience managing marketing budgets and allocating investment to maximise impact
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing and contributing to delivery across digital channels (e.g. website, email marketing, social media, paid campaigns)
  • Previous management experience in the Not-for-Profit sector or a community-focused role (desirable)

  • Strong data analysis skills and experience in maximising ROI
