About The Opportunity
The primary purpose of this position is to develop and lead the organisation’s marketing and communications strategy, ensuring it is recognised as a leading organisation for girls and young women in New Zealand.
You will oversee strategic marketing, digital initiatives, public relations, and brand positioning, while leading a small team and supporting national campaigns.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Owning and executing the marketing and communications strategy aligned to organisational goals
- Developing multi-channel campaigns across digital, social, email and traditional platforms
- Leading proactive and reactive media relations and public relations activities
- Overseeing digital marketing including website, SEO/SEM, email and paid campaigns
- Creating and approving high-quality copy across reports, press releases, speeches and online content
- Managing marketing budgets and optimising campaigns using data-driven insights
- Leading and supporting direct reports, ensuring strong workload management and team development
- Partnering with internal teams to deliver recruitment and engagement campaigns
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Marketing, Communications or a related field
- Strong experience in brand, digital marketing and strategic communications
- Proven ability to develop and execute successful multi-channel campaigns
- Excellent copywriting skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong analytical capability and experience maximising ROI
- At least 3+ years’ experience managing and developing staff
- Excellent stakeholder management and media relationship skills
You will also ideally have:
- Experience in the Not-for-Profit or community sector
- Experience marketing events or new initiatives
- Confidence using AI tools and analytics to enhance marketing outcomes
