About The Opportunity
We’re seeking a highly organised and proactive Volunteer Programme Coordinator for a 7-month maternity cover, enabling a two-week handover and two-week handback period. This is a full-time role (40 hours/week) with hybrid flexibility. You will work from home with just 1 or 2 days in the office per week, flexible hours for travelling, and free onsite parking. You’ll coordinate volunteer training, awards, and health and safety processes, ensuring smooth delivery and compliance across national programmes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Playing a key role in coordinating the national volunteer training calendar (bookings, promotion, logistics, evaluations)
- Managing volunteer awards and documentation in collaboration with the Resources & Merchandise Coordinator
- Maintaining leadership qualification and training databases
- Ensuring training budgets are accurate and adhered to, and invoices are processed accurately
- Supporting health and safety compliance, incident reporting, and risk management for events and programmes
- Facilitating the volunteer mentoring framework and ensuring up-to-date communication with staff and volunteers
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience as an administrator with a passion for accuracy and customer service
- Strong coordination experience, ideally in a volunteer or not-for-profit setting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, Outlook, Power BI and Teams)
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A proactive, detail-focused approach with great time management
- Knowledge of health and safety systems and risk management (a qualification is a bonus)
- Preferably experience, but definitely a passion for supporting volunteers and making a difference
- A commitment to integrity, service excellence and positive workplace culture
