About The Opportunity
The primary purpose of this position is to manage a portfolio of complex litigation matters from instruction through to resolution, while mentoring junior staff and contributing to the firm’s growth.
Reporting to the Partners, your responsibilities will include:
- Draft pleadings, legal documents, correspondence, and detailed written advice.
- Conduct negotiations, mediations, and settlement discussions with clients and opposing parties.
- Appear in court independently or alongside counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
- Provide strategic legal and commercial advice while mentoring junior team members.
- Build strong client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Admission as a Solicitor in Australia with a current unrestricted practising certificate
- Minimum of 4 years post-admission experience in civil and commercial litigation
- Experience in insurance litigation, recoveries, motor claims, demurrage, or property damage
- Excellent drafting, analytical, negotiation, and advocacy skills
- Strong commercial acumen with a client-focused mindset
- Proven ability to manage a team and supervise legal matters effectively
