About The Opportunity

Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a Resource Management Planning Consultant to join their busy and supportive team.

Reporting to Senior Planners & Directors, your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and managing resource consent applications
  • Interpreting and applying planning documents and legislation
  • Providing professional planning advice to private and public sector clients
  • Engaging with stakeholders, including clients, councils, and government agencies
  • Supporting subdivision, development and land-use projects
  • Managing workloads independently while contributing to a multidisciplinary team
  • Preparing and managing Department of Conservation Concession applications
  • Preparing and managing submissions on Resource Management and Department of Conservation management plan reviews

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • 3+ years’ experience in resource management planning
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in planning or a related discipline
  • Current NZPI membership or working towards registration
  • Strong understanding of planning legislation and documentation

You will also have:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • A proactive, solutions-focused and “can-do” approach
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
