Our client takes a holistic approach to residential construction projects, considering clients’ tastes, design, the National Construction Code, and expert craftsmanship.

With 20 years of residential construction experience, the Director brings a personal, professional level of expertise and a can-do attitude to problem-solving. The business has successfully delivered 30–40 residential projects to date and continues to expand steadily each year.

About The Opportunity

The primary purpose of this position is to manage financial and operational data across Xero and Wunderbuild, ensuring accuracy, compliance and effective internal reporting. This in-house role replaces outsourced bookkeeping and a previously offshore assistant, bringing key operational support back into the business.

Reporting directly to the Director, some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting BAS preparation and internal financial reporting

  • Entering, reconciling and maintaining all financial data in Xero

  • Weekly bank reconciliations, payroll preparation, and documentation tracking

  • Capturing job site information and cost variations for accurate invoicing

  • Coordinating documents, WHS forms, and task flow across projects

  • Monitoring A/R and A/P, sending invoice reminders and scheduling payments

  • Managing job-specific data and cost tracking in Wunderbuild (training provided)

  • Applicants must have experience in the design, approval or construction process (personal or professional)

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Strong proficiency with Xero is essential

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills

  • Confidence working both independently and collaboratively

  • A proactive mindset with the ability to spot and resolve issues early

  • High attention to detail and ability to follow structured daily processes

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping, operations or finance coordination

  • Preference for candidates based in Sydney with availability for hybrid work

  • Experience with construction or project-based software (e.g. Wunderbuild) is desirable
