GirlGuiding New Zealand is seeking a Property Team Lead to oversee and enable the effective use of our national property portfolio; from halls and campsites to storage and equipment ensuring safe, well‑maintained, and well‑used properties that support Guiding activities across Aotearoa.
About The Role
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will lead a small, distributed team and work closely with volunteers and external stakeholders to ensure our properties operate smoothly day-to-day while supporting longer‑term planning.
You’ll balance hands-on operational delivery with co-ordination, planning, and continuous improvement, ensuring our properties remain fit-for-purpose and aligned to organisational priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the Property Team and volunteer Facility Co‑ordinators
- Oversee day-to-day management of owned and leased properties
- Coordinate maintenance (planned and reactive) within budget
- Oversee management of suppliers, contractors, and external hire arrangements
- Support implementation of property strategy, policies, and plans
- Monitor property performance, usage, and condition nationally
- Ensure strong health, safety, and compliance practices across all sites
- Contribute to financial management, including invoice processing and tracking
About You
You are a practical, solutions-focused leader who enjoys working across people, systems, and physical environments.
You bring:
- Experience in property, facilities, or asset management (5+ years preferred)
- Proven ability to lead and support a small team (including remotely)
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
- Confidence working with budgets, suppliers, and contractors
- A collaborative approach and ability to build relationships with volunteers and external stakeholders
- Comfort working in a not-for-profit or community environment
- A full, clean NZ driver licence
