About The Opportunity
The Hire Controller / Yard Operator will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency of their Spotswood branch. This hybrid position entails overseeing hire contracts and logistics while managing yard operations that include equipment preparation, inspection, and loading.
- Raise and manage on-hire contracts in Syrinx, including rates, dates, site, PO, and terms
- Process off-hires by collecting, reconciling, and charging for damages or losses within 24 hours
- Schedule transport/logistics and manage carriers effectively
- Prepare, inspect, clean, and load equipment; operate a forklift as needed
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing phone and counter enquiries while maintaining branch service standards
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience in customer service, hire desk operations, internal sales, or logistics coordination, preferably within the equipment hire, construction, or transport industries
- A Construction Induction (White Card) and a current driver's licence
- Proficiency in systems such as ERP/Syrinx, Microsoft 365, and HubSpot/CRM (or willingness to learn)
- A Forklift High Risk Work Licence (LF), or the willingness to obtain one within the first 60 days
- A calm, organised demeanour with strong attention to detail and a service-oriented mindset
