About The Company
Our client is Australia's pioneering online thoroughbred auction platform. Founded in Sydney in 2014, this 100% Australian owned and independent business runs weekly auctions across Australia and New Zealand, along with a separate US site. The business is growing fast and is now ready to build a marketing function to match.
About The Opportunity
The primary purpose of this position is to build and scale the marketing function from the ground up. You'll work with raw customer data to segment the market, then decide which channels to use, how to allocate budgets and what return each segment delivers. You'll also guide the business through an exciting rebrand, working hand in hand with the Sales Manager to drive growth.
Reporting directly to the COO, some of your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the business through its rebrand
- Setting marketing budgets and measuring ROI across channels
- Analysing raw customer data to segment customers and select channels
- Building and growing the marketing team internally as revenue comes through
- Sourcing and briefing subcontractors such as social media and lead gen specialists
- Working closely with the Sales Manager on budgets, qualifying leads and what marketing delivers to sales
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills
- Proven scale-up experience in a rapid growth business
- A highly numerical mind with budgeting and finance experience
- Experience building a brand or leading a business through a rebrand
- A proven track record liaising and collaborating with sales teams and managers
- A hands-on, team-oriented approach and experience scoping and commissioning work from specialist contractors
