About The Company

Our client is an established and highly successful arboricultural business covering every side of tree work: small private jobs, local government contracts and heavy clearing works. Operating across Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay, the Gold Coast and Ipswich, they have built a reputation for doing difficult work well, with modern, well-maintained machinery on every site.

They are a highly motivated team with a genuinely diverse skill set, and they keep it that way on purpose. Two in-house trainers work alongside the crews to upskill staff and build out their ticket portfolios, and the business is still growing, so there is room to grow with it.

About The Opportunity

The primary purpose of this position is to climb, lead and deliver across the full range of tree work, from private residential jobs through to council contracts and large-scale clearing and urgent storm and natural disaster work.

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, some of your responsibilities will include:

• Climbing confidently across removals, pruning and reductions, bringing your rigging skills to complex jobs
• Running your assigned crew on site, setting the pace and keeping everyone safe
• Operating modern machinery on private, council and heavy clearing works
• Driving company trucks to and from sites across South East Queensland
• Delivering council contract works to specification, on time and to a high standard
• Sharing your skills with crew members and lifting the capability of the whole team

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• 3+ years in arboriculture, ideally commercial, but strong private industry experience is equally welcome
• An MR or HR truck licence to get the crew and gear to site
• A Certificate III in Arboriculture (AQF Level 3), current chainsaw ticket and an EWP ticket would be ideal
• Traffic control and First Aid certification — highly regarded, not essential
• Machine operating experience will put you at a real advantage
• The motivation to thrive in a crew and the generosity to pass your skills on
