About The Company

Our client is an electrical contracting business delivering installation, maintenance, testing, commissioning and fault rectification work across South-East Queensland and into New South Wales. Their crews cover everything from new installs through to the tricky fault-finding jobs other sparkies walk away from, and the standard of the finished work is what keeps their customers calling back.

Operating from Clontarf, they run tight site crews with apprentices coming through the ranks. It is a hands-on, no-nonsense team where good workmanship, straight communication and looking after the customer count for more than anything else.

About The Opportunity

The primary purpose of this position is to lead site crews on the tools by keeping the work safe, the quality high and the job moving, while bringing apprentices along with you.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Leading site crews day to day by allocating work, coordinating subcontractors and setting daily priorities
• Mentoring apprentices on the tools and bringing them through as tradespeople
• Carrying out installation, maintenance, testing, commissioning, fault-finding and rectification work to standard
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, scopes and material requirements, raising any discrepancies promptly
• Keeping accurate timesheets, job notes, test results, photos, variations and handover information
• Protecting safety, quality, programme and customer relationships on every site you run
• Working to WHS systems, client requirements and site rules as they apply

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• At least 3-5 years' experience as a qualified electrician
• A current Queensland Electrical Licence, Builder's White Card and manual driver's licence
• The practical nous to diagnose faults calmly and methodically when things go sideways
• Clear communication with customers, supervisors, apprentices and other trades
• A safety-first mindset and consistent attention to detail
• Strong organisation and self-motivation
• Experience with ServiceM8 is highly regarded
