About The Company 

Our client is a third-generation tip truck hire and quarry product business, established on the Gold Coast in 1974. They have a large fleet of company-owned and sub-contractor tip trucks on the road every day. Their work primarily consists of civil construction (earthworks for subdivisions and roads) with cartage out of quarries around South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales. Their dispatchers are instrumental in the success of the business including their customers, subcontractor truck owners and truck drivers.

About The Opportunity

They are now looking for a Transport Allocator to join their company in Helensvale, QLD.

Ideally, they are looking for someone to work 10 hours each weekday between 5:30 am and
5:30 pm and one Saturday morning from 5:30 am to 12:00 pm each month (time off in lieu given). They are able to be flexible for the right candidate or offer a part-time role.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Taking customer orders via phone and email 
  • Entering the job specifications into dispatch in-house software
  • Allocating work to truck drivers
  • Liaising with customers and drivers to direct deliveries
  • Monitoring the progress of deliveries
  • Continually updating dispatch in-house software
  • Ensure industry requirements are met including compliance and safety

About You 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in civil construction or quarrying
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • A logical thinking process, the ability to problem-solve with great attention to detail 
  • The ability to multi-task and work calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment with high call volume
  • Excellent communication skills with a clear calm manner and ability to build rapport 
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills
