About The Opportunity

As the Chief Executive Officer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of healthcare in the community. 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Fostering a culturally competent workforce, promoting strong community relationships, and addressing intergenerational health issues
  • Implementing the Strategic Plan and ensuring alignment with community-controlled principles for culturally safe services
  • Overseeing a life-course approach to health, integrating social and emotional well-being into service delivery
  • Holding delegated authority under Child Protection legislation to make critical decisions for at-risk children
  • Managing financial resources effectively, ensuring compliance with budgets and funding requirements
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory obligations and maintaining quality management systems
  • Participating in community events and health promotion initiatives

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience in strategic, financial, human resources, and governance management within a community-controlled context
  • A passion for promoting health equity and advocating for the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
  • A university degree in primary health care, clinical, business, management, or equivalent executive experience
  • Strong leadership skills, with a commitment to fostering a positive and culturally informed workplace culture
  • A deep understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and community control principles
  • Exceptional communication and governance knowledge, with the ability to navigate complex issues
