About The Opportunity

We are seeking a Design Engineer with a strong CAD and technical design background to support the design, documentation, and technical development of AV and PAVA systems across tendered and live projects.

This role works alongside our existing Design Engineer and sits at the intersection of design, engineering, and delivery. It is well suited to someone confident in CAD based design who is keen to develop specialist expertise in regulated PAVA environments. Full training and support will be provided on PAVA system design, standards, and compliance.

You will collaborate closely with clients, consultants, project managers, installation teams, and suppliers to develop clear, buildable designs that are technically sound, cost effective, and compliant. You will support projects from early concept and tender through to installation support and system verification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design AV and PAVA systems that balance performance, safety, compliance, and budget
  • Produce clear CAD drawings, design documentation, and technical reports\
  • Support tender submissions, quotations, and preparation of Bills of Materials
  • Assist with equipment selection and procurement support
  • Translate client and consultant documentation into buildable designs
  • Stay current with relevant standards, legislation, and industry best practice
  • Attend site visits to validate designs and confirm real-world feasibility
  • Provide hands-on technical support to installation teams when required
  • Support testing, verification, and quality checking of installed systems
  • Explore new technologies and help translate innovation into practical outcomes
  • Work closely with internal teams across the full project lifecycle

About You

You bring a strong design-focused skillset with solid CAD experience and a practical, detail-driven approach. You may already have AV design experience, or come from a related technical or building services design background, and are keen to grow your capability in PAVA systems with structured training and support. You are organised, methodical, and comfortable working across office and site environments. You enjoy producing accurate, high-quality design documentation and collaborating with others to see projects delivered successfully.

You will have:

  • Proven experience using AutoCAD (or similar CAD tools) to produce technical drawings
  • Ability to interpret architectural, electrical, and consultant documentation
  • Experience preparing design documentation, drawings, and technical schedules
  • A solid technical foundation in electronics, networking, and/or system architecture
  • Understanding of construction environments and installation coordination
  • AV system experience preferred, but not essential
  • Willingness to learn PAVA system design, standards, and compliance (training provided)
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Confidence working with designers, project managers, and installation teams
  • A current driver’s licence
