About The Opportunity
An exciting entry-level opportunity exists for a Technical Sales & Support Specialist to become a trusted technical adviser to researchers, clinicians and laboratory professionals. This is an inside sales and support role, with customer relationships built mainly through phone and email, so it's a great fit for someone who enjoys problem-solving and genuine customer service over the phone.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Responding to customer enquiries and understanding their scientific and technical requirements
- Recommending appropriate scientific equipment, software and laboratory solutions
- Preparing quotations and managing customer opportunities from initial enquiry through to completion
- Building long-term relationships with customers, end users and international supplier partners
- Supporting demonstrations, installations and customer training as needed
- Continually learning new technologies, products and their scientific applications
Success in this role isn't about being the smartest scientist in the room. It's about listening carefully, asking thoughtful questions, understanding customer needs and helping researchers achieve better outcomes.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- A Degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Science, Physiology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering or related field
- Strong communication skills, high integrity and a genuine curiosity to learn and continuously grow
- A customer-first mindset, with customer service experience highly regarded (though not essential)
- Some exposure to scientific instrumentation, laboratory equipment or related technical technologies is a bonus
- 1 to 3 years' experience in scientific equipment, laboratory environments or scientific sales is preferred, but candidates earlier in their career are encouraged to apply
We're particularly interested in candidates who have made a conscious decision to build a long-term career in commercial science and enjoy helping others achieve outstanding scientific outcomes.
