About us
For over 30 years we’ve supported and protected some of the most fragile ecosystems across the continent and seen the impact of our science-based approach. We keep our eyes on the horizon and focus firmly on long-term, landscape scale impact. As a national, not-for-profit, we want to continue to expand the areas we protect and deepen the impact we have. We work in partnership with Traditional Owners, listening to and learning from the customs and cultures that came before us.
Together we can heal and protect the bush, now and into the future.
About the role
Join Bush Heritage Australia’s National Volunteer Program and play an important role in supporting the hundreds of volunteers who contribute their time, skills and passion to our conservation work each year.
Reporting to the National Volunteer Program Coordinator, the Regional Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for coordinating volunteer placements across their region, managing the volunteer journey from pre-placement through to post-placement, and providing support to both volunteers and staff.
As a proactive self-starter, you’ll help strengthen and improve our volunteer management systems and processes, contribute to the development of new ways of working, and collaborate with other Regional Volunteer Coordinators to provide support across the national program when required.
You’ll work closely with teams across your region to understand how volunteers contribute to activities on our reserves, from home and within Bush Heritage offices. During your initial induction, you’ll travel to reserves within your region to build relationships with staff and gain a firsthand understanding of how best to support our volunteers and teams. Some ongoing travel will also be required for regional and team gatherings throughout the year.
Working collaboratively across the organisation, you’ll support the implementation of Bush Heritage Australia’s 2030 Strategy and Volunteer Engagement Strategy, helping create positive, meaningful and well-supported volunteer experiences.
