About the Role
Anglicare’s Foster and Kinship Care program provides children and young people who are not able to live with their own family or who are unable to stay in their family home, with the opportunity to live in a safe nurturing family environment. Anglicare is actively involved in the recruitment and assessment of quality foster carers and provides ongoing advocacy, support, supervision and facilitation of learning for our dedicated team of foster carers across South-West QLD.
TRACC Roma Foster and Kinship Care, servicing the Roma region, is looking for a Foster Care Case Worker to identify, build and maintain a supportive network for our foster and kinship carers. The Foster Care Case Workers are also responsible for ensuring Foster Carers develop the resilience and necessary skills to provide safe and supportive care to the children and young people who are placed with them.
Our successful applicant will have highly developed problem-solving, decision-making and negotiation skills together with the drive to make a real contribution to our Program. You will have the ability to undertake foster carer assessments and provide a range of supports, including stress management and behaviour management; and demonstrated experience in providing training to adults and facilitating support groups. You will also have the ability to engage with young people who are assessed as having complex support needs so that carers are supported in meeting those needs. You will have qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or Behavioural Sciences, a current unrestricted QLD driver’s licence and the ability to meet Child Safety suitability checks and hold a Working with Children card.
Previous experience working in a Foster Care Program is highly desirable.
