St Michael’s is a not for profit organisation specialising in providing Home Maintenance and Home Modifications to people over the age of 60, retirees, or people of any age with a disability. The services delivered by St Michael’s are designed to assist people to remain living within their home environment.
Since our inception St Michael’s has built solid foundations to provide a quality service to people living in the community. The programs operated by St Michael’s specialise in helping people overcome safety, security and general well-being factors that impact on an individual’s quality of life.
In the twenty years since St Michael’s has been operating the program has developed an ethos of providing a quality caring service. St Michael’s emphasis is on working with people and providing a holistic approach to client care.
The services offered by St Michael’s include a large range of construction work specialising in home modifications and household maintenance.
About the Opportunity
We’re currently seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team part time for a 2-month fixed term contract. This exciting opportunity would ideally suit an experienced professional wanting to work in the community and not-for-profit sector.
Working 3 days per week, with flexibility in availability in order to accommodate our clients’ needs, you will be directly assisting your clients to remain living independently in their own homes.
We’re looking for a dynamic, collaborative individual who can empower our clients and support them in achieving their therapeutic goals. Our successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to develop, implement and review OT services and evaluate their effectiveness, together with experience working collaboratively with clients and their families and/or carers to maximise client outcomes. The successful applicant must be qualified in Occupational Therapy with relevant and recent experience, able to use their initiative and have excellent time and management skills. You will have knowledge and scope of Home Modifications and access equipment and the ability to work with and relate to clients with a variety of complex needs and expectations.
You will also require current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), a current QLD driver’s licence, and a current Police Certificate (obtained at your expense) or be eligible to receive one prior to commencing.
