About the Position
Nestled within our leafy campus at Taigum, north Brisbane, our fully accredited service of St Martin's features landscaped gardens and a range of recreational facilities. Extending across three integrated wings, St Martin's offers residential aged care focused on providing excellent 24 hour nursing and care assistance. The service also caters for our most physically frail and those requiring palliative care.
We are currently looking for a Laundry Support Services Worker to join the team and cover scheduled and unplanned leave on a casual basis.
This role’s overall purpose is to provide safe, high quality and efficient laundering services to residents in order to meet regulatory compliance and resident satisfaction. The Laundry Support Services Worker role, in conjunction with other roles in the facility, encourages physical and social independence; supports a safe home-like environment and safeguards the dignity and privacy of residents.
About You
As a motivated and skilled employee, you will offer the following abilities and experience:
- Experience in laundry services including washing, folding, sorting and ironing
- An understanding of Infection Control principles and procedures in relation to laundry services
- Able to follow procedure and ensue the residents personal preferences are adhered to
- Comfortable in the use of laundry, washing and drying equipment and machinery in-line with instructions
- Confident communicator who can maintain professional boundaries with clients and their families
- Experience working within designated timeframes
- An open and enthusiastic manner with a commitment to working with elderly people
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
With a professional manner and friendly disposition, you must be willing and able to work varied shifts including weekends (if required).
The following will also be required of successful applicants:
- A current National Police Certificate
- Physical capability of meeting the requirements of the role
- A Certificate II or III in Asset Maintenance (Laundry Operations) will be highly regarded
