About the Position
Our Brisbane South Community Services team are key in providing care and support to a range of clients, including Aged Care and Disability services. We work with people to explore new options, open doors and create solutions that enable people to live well in their own homes and are looking for a part time Diversional Therapist to join our team. Working across Woolloongabba and Cleveland, the role may be required for day respite & community support to the elderly, and those with disabilities. The Diversional Therapist will coordinate centre-based day care, out and about, and wellbeing programs, that include stimulating and relevant activities, enabling clients to participate in a variety of experiences which improve their quality of life.
About You
Having already established a career within the aged care, community or disability sectors, you will also offer a comprehensive knowledge of diversional therapy programs, along with the following skills and attributes:
- Demonstrated experience in assessment, case planning, implementation and evaluation of programs
- Ability to observe, and respond to, changing needs of clients to assist them in achieving therapeutic goals
- Confident working independently within a client-centred framework
- Exceptional organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise your own workflow.
- Strong communication and comfortable relating to a variety of people, including the elderly and those with a disability
- An enthusiastic, innovative approach and commitment to continuous improvement
Your qualifications will include:
- A Degree in Diversional Therapy, Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation; Certificate IV in Leisure & Health, or equivalent
- Current Queensland Driver Licence
- Valid Blue Card (Working with Children) with Yellow Card exemption
- A current National Police Certificate
- First Aid Certificate with CPR would be favourable
