About the Position
Abri Residential Aged Care Village is conveniently located on the Gold Coast near the Southport Broadwater where community events and festivals are frequently held in the Parklands. Abri is focused on providing excellent 24 hour nursing and care assistance for the elderly of our community, with an emphasis on respect for individuality and maintaining independence. The facility also provides special accommodation and recreational amenities for those with dementia.
To support this essential, well-established facility we are looking for an experienced leader who can see the big picture, and is able to drive both cultural and clinical practice to ensure the provision of high quality services to aged care residents. This will be achieved by effectively leading, motivating and developing a multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of individualised care while enhancing residents’ quality of life, and achieving the strategic direction of the organisation within designated clinical and business frameworks.
This full time Facility Manager role is responsible for the effective and efficient operations of the Facility within budgetary requirements, while achieving optimal quality standards within all legislative requirements. This position is therefore responsible for the operational, developmental, human resource, financial performance and resident outcomes of the Facility; and will participate as an effective member of the Residential Aged Care Team.
About You
An experienced senior nurse with a passion for Aged Care, you will offer the ability to lead and develop teams, and have demonstrable knowledge of, and experience in:
- Strong leadership including the education and training of team members and an understanding of workplace culture and strategies for staff engagement
- Innovative continuous improvement including development of service delivery and standards of practice
- Contemporary clinical practice standards within the Aged Care sector including the guiding principles, funding instruments and sources relevant to residential care facilities
- Operational planning and resource and budget management
- Preparation and implementation of a relevant and realistic business plan, considering geographic, strategic and financial elements
Your management within Aged Care or Health, will have established strong attributes and personal traits, including:
- The ability to lead, guide, mentor and develop a large and diverse team within a resident-centred environment
- Confident communication and a focus on building strong, effective and productive working relationships, both internally and externally
- A critical thinker with advanced problem solving, negotiation, influencing and change management skills
- Evidence-based focus on high quality care, including a passion for the industry and a belief in personal and professional ethics
- Commitment to steering continuous quality improvement within the facility and larger organisation
To be successful in this role, you must have extensive nursing experience preferably within a specialist aged care position and:
- A degree in nursing with current AHRPA registration and evidence of practice
- Evidence of current or completed study in a relevant field of Business or Management
- Ability to meet the requirements of a Key Personnel Check (Aged Care Act 1997)
- A current National Police Certificate
- Queensland Driver Licence and your own reliable vehicle
